Though this home’s finished product appears seamless and intentional, the crisp, clean lines weren’t always the plan. Full design specifications were completed for a traditional farmhouse home. As the home moved past frame stage, the clients had time to reconsider their options. They decided they wanted to move forward with a much more contemporary & neutral approach. The design team went back to the drawing board to fulfill their wants without a complete overhaul in architecture and design, proving to be a challenging task. A minimal number of materials was the new goal. With the same wood flooring, same bathroom tile and consistent white quartz slab continuing throughout the entire home, interesting use and placement of the material was key in keeping the design fresh and interesting. Ultra-contemporary light fixtures, paired with stainless steel accents and plush, textural fabrics became just the simple, yet stunning interest that the homeowner’s desired.
